The St. John Ambulance Association (India), Tamil Nadu State Centre, was established in 1915 to provide humanitarian training and assistance in times of personal, occupational and national emergencies.

The Tamil Nadu State Centre has been constituted under the authority of the St. John Ambulance Association (India), New Delhi. Ours is a voluntary humanitarian organization having a network of training centres throughout the state, providing training in First Aid and allied subjects based on the syllabus prescribed by the National Council of St. John Ambulance Association, New Delhi. Since its inception, the Tamil Nadu State Centre has educated and trained numerous individuals, volunteers, industrial and service personnel in the practice of first aid, nursing, and occupational health and safety. Our training has helped people to identify and adopt different strategies in case of an emergency. Moreover, our courses are fully certified, internationally recognized and valid for work visas.

St. John Ambulance Association (India) is a national federation consisting of 36 centres in states/UTs, 12 Railway centres and over 600 centers in Regional/District/Local levels.

The Tamil Nadu State Center of the Association has training centers in important cities across the state. We also have our dedicated and fully equipped training centre functioning at the state headquarters in Chennai. In addition, we conduct outreach programs in different towns and cities to impart training to various segments of people working in hazardous industries, factory personnel and volunteers.
