MADRAS SCHOOL OF SOCIAL WORK, CHENNAI SOFT SKILL TRAINING ON FIRST AID AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT

We are glad to inform that St. John Ambulance Association, Tamil Nadu State HQRS is conducting Soft Skill Training on First Aid & Disaster Management for the second-year BSW students of Madras School of Work, Chennai as part of their curriculum and to cover their syllabus on First Aid and Disaster Management. Accordingly, the training is scheduled on the following dates: 27th, 28th, 29th, 31st January 2025, and 3rd February 2025, from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, totaling 20 hours across 5 days (4 hours per day).

"St. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION (SJAA) TN STATE HQRS - VANDALUR ZOO- FIRST AID HELP DESK DURING PONGAL HOLIDAYS.

We are very proud to announce that SJAA, Tamil Nadu State HQRS organised a First Aid - Medical Camp Unit at Vandalur Zoo from 14th January 2025 to 16th January 2025 during the Pongal festival to render medical support and treatment for those injured or such visitors with sudden illness during their visit to Vandalur Zoo. A doctor and two assistants of SJAA were part of the team and rendered their services at the camp. Basic first aid was given to 126 visitors from14th Jan to 16th Jan..2025 for various ailments and treatment to children below 10 years was given for fever (after diagnosis) and paracetamol syrup was given. Also first aid awareness programme was conducted for a team of five (5) children from a home school, located at Chromepet. To sum up, the first aid support and the related arrangements were exemplary and very well appreciated by the Forest Department, especially Shri Ashish Kumar Srivastava, IFS, Director of Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Vandalur was very much satisfied and congratulated our team’s activities.

Inaugural function of commencing the Home Nursing Training was held on 4th November 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the premises of St. John Ambulance Association, Tamil Nadu State HQRS, Chennai and the event was inaugurated by Dr. Sudha Seshayyan, Former Vice-Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University with the active participation of our EC Members, followed by starting of 1st Batch of training to 12 candidates for a duration of 8 days of 2 hours each ( 16 Hours ) from 4th November to 12th November 2024.

INAUGURAL FUNCTION OF "HOME NURSING
COURSE TRAINING"

We wish to inform you that the inaugural function of “HOME NURSING COURSE” training will be held on 4th November (Monday) 2024 at 10. 30 a.m followed by starting of the 1st batch of training session at the office of St. John Ambulance Association, Tamil Nadu State Centre, No.1, Mayor V R Ramanathan Road, Chetpet, Chennai 600 031.

Home Nursing Aid Course

Applications are invited for Home Nursing Aid Course mainly for geriatric Home Care.

Course Duration - 8 days.
Eligibility - 10th Standard – pass.
Course fee - RS.1000 + GST.

Those who are desiring to take up First Aid Course in addition during the same period can opt for it with an additional fee of Rs.1000+GST.

World First Aid Day 2024

We are happy to inform you that the ” World First Aid Day ” is celebrated every year on the second Saturday of September, which falls on 14th September 2024.

2) As a part of celebrations of “First Aid Day on the 14th September 2024”, St.John Ambulance Association, Tamil Nadu State Chapter is planning to organize “First Aid Awareness Programme” for the teachers and the students of educational institutions across Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu.

AGM - MEETING NOTICE

We are pleased to inform that the Annual General Body Meeting for the financial year ended 31st March 2024 of St. John Ambulance Association, Tamil Nadu State Centre will be held on 21st September 2024 at 04:00 pm in Bharathiyar Mandapam, Raj Bhavan, Chennai 600 022.

2) Thiru R N Ravi, Hon'ble Governor of Tamil Nadu and the President, St John Ambulance Association (Tamil Nadu Chapter) will preside over the Annual General Body Meeting.

3) According to Rule 28 of the Regulations of St.John Ambulance Association, Tamil Nadu State, every District / Local Centre shall be entitled to send a representative to attend at the Annual General Body Meeting of the State Centre. The representative shall preferably be the Honorary Secretary or any other Office Bearer.
